The Best EU-Hosted AI Visibility Tools in 2026
Half this category is a US company with a DPA and a promise. If that does not survive your procurement review, this is the shorter list.

TL;DR
Most of this category is American. That is fine for most buyers and fatal for
some: public sector, healthcare, finance, and anyone whose procurement team asks
where the data is processed and will not accept "we have Standard Contractual
Clauses" as the whole answer. This list covers the tools that process in the EU.
Renown is first: application infrastructure in Finland, database in Ireland,
both in the EU, a Finnish company under Finnish law. Peec AI is the strongest
alternative and is Berlin-based.
What "EU-hosted" is actually worth
Be precise about this, because the marketing is not. EU hosting alone does not
make a tool GDPR-compliant, and a US tool with a signed DPA and SCCs is not
automatically non-compliant. The reason data residency matters is narrower and
more practical: it removes a transfer question from your review, it shortens the
sub-processor conversation, and in some sectors it is simply a hard requirement
that ends the discussion.
So the useful question is not "are you GDPR compliant", which everyone answers
yes to. It is: where does the data physically sit, who are the sub-processors,
and will you sign a DPA. Ask for the sub-processor list. A vendor that will not
publish one is telling you something.
How this list is ranked
Where data is processed first, then European market coverage, then whether the
tool does the work. Certification claims are reported exactly as each vendor
makes them, and no certification is attributed to anyone who has not claimed it.
Renown makes one of these. We are first on data location. We do not hold SOC 2,
ISO or any other third-party certification and we do not claim one, which
matters if your procurement requires it: Profound does hold SOC 2 and is named
below for that reason.
Checked August 2026.
The ranking
1. Renown
Where the data sits: Finland and Ireland, both EU. Applicationinfrastructure runs on Hetzner in Finland. The database runs in Ireland. Data
collected by the service is processed within the EU. The full sub-processor
list, with locations, is published at /privacy rather than available
on request.
Renown is a Finnish company. The terms are governed by Finnish law with
jurisdiction in Helsinki District Court, which is a different and stronger fact
than hosting alone: it means the contract, the company and the servers are all
in the same jurisdiction as your GDPR obligations.
GDPR-compliant processing with a DPA on request. We do not claim SOC 2, ISO or
any other third-party certification.
European coverage is the other half. The 150+ most spoken languages are covered
by default, including Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and every major
European language, and Renown tracks European models including Mistral and the
Finnish Poro and Viking models alongside the American assistants. The full
roster is at /models.
And on Renown Autopilot, the fixing is done rather than
recommended.
Where others beat it: Profound has SOC 2. If your procurement demands a
certification rather than a jurisdiction, that is the honest answer.
2. Peec AI
Where the data sits: EU, Berlin-based. The strongest European alternativeand the one most European buyers shortlist. Clean interface, quick setup, from
around €89 a month, unlimited seats on some plans, 115+ languages, and a better
GDPR posture than US-only vendors by virtue of being an EU company. If Renown is
not a fit, this is the tool to look at next.
3. Rankio
Where the data sits: France. Markets itself as EU-native and fullyGDPR-compliant with EU data residency, a transparent DPA available on every plan
including the entry tier, documented sub-processors and an AI Act readiness
claim. Note that its own marketing describes it as the only EU-native platform
in the category, which is a claim rather than a finding, and this page is one
counter-example. Worth a look, particularly if a DPA on the cheapest plan
matters to you.
4. Ranketta
Where the data sits: EU. Positioned for European businesses that value EUdata processing, with product-level tracking that is genuinely unusual: if an AI
shopping answer recommends a competitor's product over yours, it tries to tell
you why. If you sell products rather than services, look here.
5. Asky
Where the data sits: Sweden-founded. A Nordic GEO platform with languagemodels tuned on Swedish, Norwegian and Danish data. Relevant if Scandinavia is
your only market. Their own Nordic roundup ranks Asky first and is written by a
co-founder, which is worth knowing when you read it. Also note it dates from
late 2025, which is old for this category.
6. GetMentioned
Where the data sits: Europe. Another European option in the €89 range, frequently listed alongside Peec AI. Thinner public detail on sub-processors than
the tools above, so ask.
7. Profound
Where the data sits: United States. Listed because it is the answer to aquestion the rest of this page cannot answer. SOC 2 certified, enterprise depth,
200+ regions, around $499 a month. If your requirement is a certification rather
than EU residency, this is the tool, and no amount of EU hosting substitutes for
it.
The questions to ask any vendor
Where is the application hosted, and where is the database? These are often
different countries, and vendors frequently answer the first and skip the
second.
Who are the sub-processors and where are they? Ask for the published list.
Analytics, email and payment providers are commonly outside the EU even when the
core product is not.
Will you sign a DPA, and on which plan? Some vendors gate it to enterprise
tiers.
What certifications do you actually hold? Take the specific answer. "GDPR
compliant" is a statement about practice. SOC 2 and ISO 27001 are audits with
certificates and dates.
Frequently asked questions
Which AI visibility tools are hosted in the EU?
Renown processes in Finland and Ireland. Peec AI is Berlin-based, Rankio is
hosted in France, Ranketta processes in the EU, and Asky is Sweden-founded.
Profound, Otterly.AI, Scrunch, Semrush and Ahrefs are US-based, though several
offer DPAs and SCCs.
Is a US tool with a DPA good enough?
For many buyers, yes. Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy
Framework are real transfer mechanisms. It stops being good enough when your
sector or your procurement policy requires residency, at which point the
mechanism is irrelevant and only the location matters.
Does Renown hold SOC 2?
No, and we do not claim it. Renown processes in the EU under Finnish law with a
DPA on request. If your requirement is specifically SOC 2, Profound holds it.
Does EU hosting mean better European market coverage?
Not automatically. They are separate questions and you should ask both. A tool
can be hosted in Frankfurt and still only track English prompts against American
models. Coverage is about languages and models, which is why Renown publishes
its model roster separately.
Renown is a Finnish company processing data in Finland and Ireland, with a DPA on request and 150+ languages covered by default.
