European Alternatives to Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit in 2026
Semrush is American, now owned by Adobe, and stores its data in the US. For some European buyers that ends the conversation. Here is the shortlist that survives it.

Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit is a sensible add-on if you already live in
Semrush. It is also American. Adobe completed its acquisition of Semrush on
28 April 2026, and Semrush's own security page says it stores data in the United
States. Transfers from Europe run on Standard Contractual Clauses. For a lot of
buyers that is fine. For the ones whose procurement team wants EU processing,
it is the end of the conversation. Renown is first on this list: a Finnish
company, application infrastructure in Finland, database in Ireland, with the
full sub-processor list published. SISTRIX is the pick if you want a European SEO
suite rather than a dedicated AI visibility tool.
Why teams look past Semrush for AI visibility
Two reasons, and they are not the same.
Data residency. Semrush Inc. is in Boston, with a second controller inPrague. Its published sub-processor list is almost entirely US-based, and there
is no documented EU residency option. Adobe has said there are no immediate
changes to Semrush contracts. If your review asks where prompt and customer data
physically sits, the answer is the US.
Fit. The toolkit is sold per domain with a set prompt allowance, and thewidest engine coverage sits on Semrush Enterprise AIO, which is custom-priced.
If AI answers are the main thing you need to measure, a dedicated tool usually
gives you more prompts, more engines and more languages for the same money. The

Berlin-based, clean and quick to start. A set number of models per plan,unlimited users, and extra models as add-ons. Its privacy
policy says the app runs on Google Cloud through Google Ireland, but does not

3. SISTRIX
The European SEO suite, if that is what you actually want. SISTRIX GmbH is inBonn and says it runs on EU-only servers. AI visibility tracking for Google AI
Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT and Perplexity is included in its plans. It is new in
SISTRIX and narrower than a dedicated tool, but if you are
replacing all of Semrush and not just the AI part, this is the closest European
equivalent.
4. Otterly.AI
Austrian, hosted in Frankfurt, cheapest way in. OtterlyAI GmbH hosts on AWSeu-central-1. It has the lowest entry price here, with some engines included and
others as add-ons. The SOC 2 and ISO 27001 badges on its security page are AWS's data-centre
certifications, not Otterly's own.
5. Morningscore
Danish SEO suite with an AI module. Morningscore ApS is in Odense, keeps itsdatabases in Germany and publishes sub-processor locations in its DPA. A
reasonable pick for a small team that wants basic SEO and a first look at
AI answers in one tool.

Should you stay on Semrush?
If US storage is not a problem your procurement team will raise and you already
pay for Semrush, the toolkit is a reasonable way to start watching AI answers.
Do not switch on principle. Switch when residency is a hard requirement, or when
the prompt allowance and engine coverage stop being enough to answer the
question you are actually asking.
