Use Renown from Claude, ChatGPT and other AI apps

Server URL: https://api.tryrenown.com/mcp. You sign in with your Renown account and approve the app on a consent screen. The app then sees the same brands you see in your dashboard. The connector is included on every paid plan and reads what your plan already includes.

Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop and mobile)

• Open Customize (or Settings), then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
• Enter the server URL above and leave the advanced settings empty.
• Choose Connect, sign in to Renown and approve.
• In a chat, enable the Renown connector and ask about your brand.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an organisation owner adds the connector first; each member then connects with their own Renown sign-in.

ChatGPT (web)

• In Settings, under Security, turn on Developer mode.
• Add a new app with the server URL above and choose OAuth.
• Sign in to Renown, approve, and ask about your brand.

Perplexity, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, n8n and scripts

These use an API key instead of signing in, which also suits automation. Create one in the Renown app under Settings, then AI connectors & API keys. It is shown once, with setup ready to paste. In Perplexity, add a custom remote connector with the server URL and choose API key. In Claude Code, for example:

Make a key read-only if the tool never needs to mark actions complete, and give it an expiry if it is for a one-off job. You can hold up to five active keys.

• list_brands: The brands your account can see (agency accounts see their clients).
• get_brand_profile: Category, description, tracked competitors, personas and value propositions.
• get_visibility_summary: Latest visibility scores, the breakdown per AI engine, how competitors score in the same run, and which value propositions engines recognise.
• get_visibility_history: Headline scores for each completed analysis run, newest first.
• list_prompts: The prompts Renown asks AI engines on your behalf.
• list_topics: The buyer-intent topics your prompts are grouped under.
• get_responses: What each AI engine answered, whether it mentioned you, where you ranked and which competitors it named.
• get_citations: The web pages AI engines cite when answering your prompts, most-cited first.
• get_actions: Your recommended actions, highest priority first, with the steps to take.
• mark_action_complete: Marks one of your own brand's recommended actions as done. The only tool that changes anything.

Every tool except mark_action_complete is read-only. The connector cannot change your brand settings, prompts, billing or team.

• A connected app sees only the brands your account can see. Agency accounts see their client brands, which is why tools ask which brand when there is more than one.
• Approve only apps you trust: an approved app acts with your account’s permissions. The consent screen shows which app is asking and where approving sends you.
• AI answers and cited-page text are third-party content. The connector labels them as data so the app treats them as information, not instructions.
• Requests are rate-limited per key or per user.
• To end access, disconnect the app in its settings, or revoke the API key in Settings, then AI connectors & API keys. To cut off every connected app at once, email hello@tryrenown.com. Revoked access stops working within minutes.
